Yamnuska Backcountry Kitchen has been accepted for membership in the Alberta Food Processors Association. The Alberta Food Processors Association (AFPA) is a non-profit organization representing all segments of the food and beverage industry in Alberta. Yamnuska's dehydrated meal processing operation qualifies us for membership as a processor in Alberta.

"This is an exciting step forward in our evolution as a high quality food and dehydrated meal processor" says Brian McClure, Yamnuska's Backcountry Food Services Manager. "The AFPA is rich in educational and resource support and our active membership will ensure as we grow, that we are operating to the highest industry standards. Yamnuska's Backcountry Kitchen has always subscribed to the concept that high quality ingredients and processes ensure a high quality finished product so this is a natural step forward in our program."

For 30 years, Yamnuska's Backcountry Kitchen has designed and processed high quality meal menus that give our clients the energy they need for active backcountry adventures. Over the course of this time, our dehydration processes have yielded an excellent product that not only tastes great but has high nutritional and calorie content. Our meal selection has recently been expanded to offer a wider selection of dinners that meets a multitude of consumer tastes. Many of our meals are gluten free, lactose free and vegetarian.

The Yamnuska brand is synonymous with high quality backcountry experiences and our membership in the AFPA demonstrates our commitment to ensuring our food products are consistent with that overall quality experience.
