Below is information about our Food Products.

Allergies and Intolerances

We treat all food allergies and intolerances very seriously. It’s one thing to have a food allergy. It’s another thing to have an allergic reaction in the backcountry where assistance can often be days away. Food allergies or intolerances can be very serious so please call us or read our information carefully before placing your order. Our dehydrated meals are well labelled and contain all of the appropriate information. Full trip catering is more complex for food allergies or intolerances and if we can't accommodate your issue we will be upfront.

Plus in Canada, most retail packaged freeze dried meals are imported and we think there is some merit to buying local.

Ingredients

It seems pretty logical to us that high quality inputs yield high quality outputs. The ingredients of our meals are carefully selected by our Food Services Manager and are constantly being review based on actual field feedback. We buy our ingredients from local stores and distributors in Canmore, Banff and Calgary. Given that we have virtually no storage space, everything is bought as it is being used. Buying local high quality foods isn’t always the cheapest but quality is our focus.
